Effect of Normobaric and Hypobaric Hypoxia on Formant Characteristics of Human Voice

چکیده
Background: Hypoxia is an intensive environmental stressor which affects the psychophysiological state of an individual. It has been confirmed to influence the fundamental frequency of voice. This study aims to investigate the effect of different hypoxia conditions on formant characteristics of voice. Method: Eighteen volunteers recorded voice using a mobile phone in two phases. Study-1: Six subjects were exposed to normobaric hypoxia (NH) for four days in a normobaric chamber. For hypobaric hypoxia same subjects were airlifted to 11500 ft above sea level (SL) and stayed there for four days. Study-2: Out of twelve subjects, six test subjects exercised after NH exposure. Other six were control subjects. All 12 subjects were

Effect of High intensity interval training and hypobaric hypoxia on Body weight changes and Endurance performance in Male wistar rats following the tapering program
Introduction: Adaptation to attitude is a complementary exercise to increase athletes' fitness and physiological performance. The present study investigated the effect of high intensity interval training at the hypobaric hypoxia conditions on weight changes and endurance performance test in rats following a three-weeks tapering period. Materials and Methods: In this experimental study, 25 m...
متن کاملEffect of hypobaric hypoxia, simulating conditions during long-haul air travel, on coagulation, fibrinolysis, platelet function, and endothelial activation.
CONTEXT The link between long-haul air travel and venous thromboembolism is the subject of continuing debate. It remains unclear whether the reduced cabin pressure and oxygen tension in the airplane cabin create an increased risk compared with seated immobility at ground level. OBJECTIVE To determine whether hypobaric hypoxia, which may be encountered during air travel, activates hemostasis. ...
متن کاملPhysiological equivalence of normobaric and hypobaric exposures of humans to 25,000 feet (7620 m).
INTRODUCTION Skepticism exists about whether normobaric and hypobaric hypoxic exposures are equivalent. We have evaluated if physiological differences between the two environments would translate into actual differences in hypoxia symptoms. METHODS We exposed 20 subjects to 5-min 25,000-ft (7620-m) equivalent environments in an altitude chami ber and then in a ground-level portable reduced-ox...
متن کاملMembrane lipid diffusion and band 3 protein changes in human erythrocytes due to acute hypobaric hypoxia.
Because it has been reported that hypoxia in rats may promote lipid peroxidation and other free radical reactions that could modify membrane lipids and proteins, the effect of acute hypobaric hypoxia on human erythrocyte membranes was investigated. 12-(1-Pyrene)dodecanoic acid fluorescent probe was used to assess short-range lateral diffusion status in the membrane bilayer. Membrane protein mod...
متن کاملEffect of Acute Exposure to Moderate Altitude on Muscle Power: Hypobaric Hypoxia vs. Normobaric Hypoxia
When ascending to a higher altitude, changes in air density and oxygen levels affect the way in which explosive actions are executed. This study was designed to compare the effects of acute exposure to real or simulated moderate hypoxia on the dynamics of the force-velocity relationship observed in bench press exercise. Twenty-eight combat sports athletes were assigned to two groups and assesse...
